Okay...Katie is definitely over 'homesickness' because we haven't heard from her in 2 days. I knew she would love Italy (she loves Pasta & bread & anything Italian) so I'm guessing she is thoroughly enjoying herself and is completely exhausted so she hasn't called.
This morning Katie was scheduled to leave Venice early in the morning and they were to arrive first in Brescello by a member of the town hall and they were going to meet the Director of of the "Museum Peppone e Don Camillo!" Supposedly this is a Film in Italy that is well known in that country. She was going to get to visit the film set and see some of the film sets throughout the town of Brescello. Just from the research that we did before she went it looked like this film was an older film and it continues to go with new actors....I can't wait to hear Katie's version.
For lunch she was supposed to eat a traditional Italian meal: Gnocchi with meat sauce and homemade cake...yum!
Then she was off to Pisa learning about & viewing the Leaning Tower of Pisa!! Michael just told me a story that he went to a conference where a professor in engineering was on the team of engineers that studied the soil/design of the tower. The professor, Dr. Leonard, told them of their findings and said that the tower would be stabalized for at least another 200 years. The conference was held in 1992 or 1993.
